The name is Bond…Kevin Bond and it is a name that is known throughout the gospel artist and musician community. In case you have not heard of him, he’s a ten time Grammy award winner and mastermind behind such productions like God’s Property from Kirk Franklin’s Nu Nation, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, and the list goes on.
For those of us who have been devout followers of his career, we watched this musician help to birth the revelatory sound of Donald Lawrence and the Tri City singers when they first came on the gospel scene.
Now, the Chief Levite has used his piano skills and the power of his independent label, Bonded Music, to bring attention to the recent tragedy of Newton, Connecticut. Kevin revealed to Darlene McCoy in his Praise 102.5 interview today a new single titled A Song of Hope from his upcoming album Center Stage. The new single has already reached #1 in the Jazz and Contemporary category on independent web distributor, CD Baby.com. A portion of the proceeds will go towards a memorial fund for the victims of Newton Connecticut.
“The prevailing intent of this musical offering is to encourage every victim of oppression and misfortune across the world to lay hold of the invisible, invaluable hope that lies within. “ –Kevin Bond
This is a great piece lil sis! Keep doing what you’re doing and watch God continue to move in your life and ministry!!
Thank you big brother.
Kevin Bond is a great musician, but he is an even greater human being for doing something like this to bring healing to the Newton Community
This is true Chauntel. I heard a preacher say that God tends to bless the finances of those who are the biggest givers because He knows they will give more. This is the epitome of Keviin’s career to me. Thx for your comment
Awesome post Kim! Keep up the good work!
